Q is the brilliant inventor of uncountable gadgets that have saved the life of James Bond while he’s been in the field all throughout his career. His knack for creating the most outlandish gadgets to be used in some of life’s daily appliances has been a great asset to Bond.
Q: I think he’s attempting re-entry.
Q, however, is often angry and exhausted with Bond because of the way he treats his gadgets and his personality. Bond often seems to either lose them while on a mission or return them in an unusable condition. In their final scenes together in The World is not Enough, Q gives Bond two important things to remember: never allow your enemies to see you bleed and always have an escape plan.
Q: Don’t touch that! It’s my lunch.
Q: It’s the insurance waver for your beautiful new car. – Will you need collision coverage? – Fire? – Property destruction? – Personal injury? – They frequently do with you. – Only from me 007, unless you bring that car back in pristine order.

Known as Algernon here, Q seems to have been hit hard by the new form of doing things; his workshops kept cold and very little funding. He introduces some gadgets to Bond, and explains the use of his sinus inhaler.

Q: I wish I could make you vanish.
This new Q was first seen as an assistant in The World is not Enough, equipping Bond with his gadgets. In Die Another Day, he puts Bond through a virtual reality training course, which Miss Moneypenny also stumbles across later on.
